In my previous post I talked about glowy skin but in this post we’ll cover the total opposite, how to get rid of oil and mattify your skin plus how to reduce the appearance of pores.
My first ever product that I tried from Benefit was their well famous the POREfessional face primer*. I think that was one of the first primers on the market that helped with the appearance of pores. It not only helps with the appearance of pores it also helps with reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
It has a balm like texture that feels very smooth on the skin and has a skin like color. When applied on the face it instantly smooths and fills your visible pores and lines. It’s like a filter for your skin and makes it look very airbrushed. You can use it alone, under and over foundation. I haven’t used it over my foundation but the primer works great when used under foundation and on it’s own. When I don’t plan on wearing makeup but still want my skin tone to look more even I apply this on my t zone where I have visible pores.
The newer product that Benefit added to their POREfessional line is the Matte Rescue*. It’s a gel primer that helps with oil and also blurs out the appearance of pores. Now this is no joke, it really does help with oil and keeps you matte all day. If you have combo skin like me I recommend only applying the primer on places where you produce the most oil. If you apply this all over your face and you have dry patches it will make your skin feel dryer so just make sure you keep it in spots that you need oil control.
the POREfessional Matte Rescue has a lighter texture than the Face Primer, dries out to a matte finish and it’s not visible on the skin. When I use the Matte Rescue on my t zone I don’t have to use a setting powder, it literally keeps me matte all day without touching up.
If you have oily or extremely oily skin the Matte Rescue will be a life saver. I still prefer the POREfessional Face Primer for blurring out my pores, I think it does a better job than the Matte Rescue but if you need mattifying the Matte Rescue is the way to go.
Have you tried any of the Benefit POREfessinal products? Any favorites?
