L’oreal recently launched three face masks that are in the clay family. Every mask addresses different skin issues from exfoliation and dead skin removal to detox and brightening and purifying and mattifying.
I have to admit that I’ve never used a face mask from the drugstore up until now. I think L’oreal are among the first brands to bring out face masks that can compete with a higher end brand. The three masks that they came out with are: Pure Clay Mask Purify & Mattify Treatment Mask, Pure Clay Mask Exfoliate & Refining Treatment Mask and Pure Clay Mask Detox & Brighten Treatment Mask.
The L’oreal Pure Clay Mask Detox & Brighten Treatment Mask has 3 pure clays and charcoal that help with detoxing, deep pore cleansing and leaves your skin clean and illuminated. It’s a creamy non drying formula that also helps with brightness of dull and tired skin revealing purified and radiant complexion. The recommended use is to apply an even layer on to clean skin and make sure to avoid the eye and lip area. Leave the mask for 10 to 15 minutes and then remove with water. For best results they recommend using the mask three times a week.
The L’oreal Pure Clay Mask Exfoliate & Refreshing Treatment Mask contains 3 pure clays and red algae that help with exfoliating dead skin, smooths imperfections and minimize pores. After using the mask the skin feels smoother and also pores look smaller, revealing a beautiful glow. The recommended use is to apply an even layer on clean skin and avoid the eye and lip area. Leave the mask for 10 to 15 minutes and then remove with water in circular motions to exfoliate the skin.
And lastly the L’oreal Pure Clay Mask Purify & Mattify Treatment Mask has 3 pure clays and eucalyptus and is recommended for oily and shiny skin. The mask is great for cleaning out clogged pores and helps with mattifying the skin. After using the mask the skin looks less shiny and the appearance of pores seems less visible without drying out the skin. The recommended use is to apply the mask on clean skin avoiding the eye and lip area. Leave for 10 to 15 minutes and then rinse with water.
All three masks have a very pleasant spa like scent which is not overpowering, in fact I quite enjoyed using all three. If you have different skin concerns you can always multi mask, use one type of mask on a specific area that you want to target and use another on another area. For me I like using the Detox mask on my t-zone where I have visible pores and use the Exfoliate mask on the rest of the face.
All in all I really like the L’oreal masks. I’m happy that drugstore brands are stepping up their game and releasing high quality skincare but with affordable prices.
The new L’oreal face masks are available at every drugstore, Ulta and Target with the average price of $12.99 per mask. Oh and just a heads up Ulta is currently having a buy one get one 50% off.
