I’m all about bright lipsticks but when it comes to every day use I turn to nude lipsticks that are not high maintenance and easy to wear. I’ve been loving the “nude” trend for spring. If you have seen photos of the models on the runway or in magazines, they all look very natural, with dewy skin, natural cheek color and a natural lip.
Marc Jacobs recently launched his New Nudes Sheer Lip Gel lipstick line. The line has seven shades which are all pretty neutral and very wearable. The two shades I own, Role Play and Eat Cake are everything but sheer. The color payoff is excellent and they go on very creamy on the lips. The finish is glossy and they make your lips look very juicy and desirable.
I also picked up a lip liner from his new (P) Outliner Longwear Lip Pencil line. The line has three shades, all very natural shades and I went with Prim(rose) a shade that goes really well with Role Play.
Role Play is a nice dusty rose nude. This lipstick is my perfect “my lips but better shade” and I just love how it looks on me. As I stated above the lipstick is very creamy and hydrating and lasts pretty well on my lips.
Eat Cake is a shade that I would wear a lot in summer. It’s described as a rosy nude but I see more coral in it. This is a shade that brightens your whole face when you wear it and it goes very nice with a little tan.
Prim(rose) is described as cocoa spice. It’s a dusty mauve nude that goes with a lot of darker nudes that I own. The lip liner is very long lasting, I actually did a swatch on my hand and couldn’t wipe it off with a makeup wipe :). This with Role Play makes the perfect lip combo if you’re in to the darker nude trend.
