The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Palette comes with three blush shades: Luminous Flush (permanent), Incadescent Electra (palette exclusive) and Mood Exposure (permanent). The palette is part of their Holiday 2014 line and it is limited edition.
The size of the palette is the same as their Ambient Lighting Powder Palette so you get a good amount of product for the price. I’ve never hit pan on any of my blushes as I like to switch things up so this is a great size for three blushes.
The blushes have a very silky finely milled feel, they’re not powdery at all and the pigmentation is great and very buildable. Now this is not a blush that has immediate full coverage color payoff so it’s nice that you have total control of the application. You can go with the natural look or build it up and get a nice flush of color.
Luminous Flush is a champagne rose color. It’s a warm coral-pink color with luminous finish. This blush makes your cheeks glow without emphasizing pores and the lasting power is great. I wore this blush today and got a lot of compliments on my skin. The blush gives a nice glowy effect without any shimmer and you can skip the highlighter cause you will not need any.
Incandescent Electra is a cool peach blush. It has a satin finish with warm undertones. I have medium skin tone and this blush looks very natural on me. I’m sure the lighter skin tone girls will love this color.
Mood Exposure is a soft plum color blush. It’s a plummy pink color with a satin finish. It gives a glowy look without emphasizing pores and imperfections. This is the perfect fall blush.
The blushes are marbled so they might have slight variations in color from the individual blushes, considering if there’s more of the blush or the ambient lighting powder in the pan.
The individual blushes sell for $35 so for the price of $58 you get a pretty good deal, specially if you don’t own any of their blushes.
I’m hoping that Hourglass will make this a permanent product as they did with their powder palette. I can see this being a very popular palette and sell out very fast. If you’re in need of a nice blush grab this as soon as it comes available.
The palette was available for VIB Rouge on Sephora’s website for maybe a day and now it’s out of stock again. It will be available at Sephora & Hourglass Cosmetics on October 1st.
