BEAUTY,

Marc Jacobs Cover(t) Stick Color Correctors

For awhile now color correcting has been all the rage in the makeup world. A lot of brands came out with different types of color correcting products, some in concealer like form, others in pencil form but Marc Jacobs launched a very unique looking product that I was pretty excited to try.

The Marc Jacobs Cover(t) Stick Color Correctors are described as easy to use color corrector sticks that come in three marbleized colors which brighten, conceal and neutralize hyper pigmentation and leave you with an even skin tone.

Like his Spotlight illuminator that I really like, the Cover(t) Stick Color Correctors come in the same beautiful white stick packaging.

The line has three shades:

310 Bright Now (pink and lilac covers and eliminates dullness)

300 Co(vert) Affairs (citron and lime covers and neutralizes redness)

320 Getting Warmer (peach and caramel conceal hyper pigmentation and dark circles)

From the website:

“Demystify color correction with the Cover(t) Stick Color Corrector. It’s never been easier to target imperfections, conceal, and create a balanced-looking complexion. It comes in three specially formulated shade filters in marbleized dual hues: Bright Now to eliminate dullness, Co(vert) Affairs to neutralize redness, and Getting Warmer to conceal hyperpigmentation and cancel out dark circles. Velvety blurring pigments filter light for a soft-focus effect. Its creamy stick formulation has a silky touch and can be blended all-over or in targeted areas to create an even, radiant complexion.”

The formula of the Cover(t) Stick Color Correctors is creamy and glides easily on the skin. The coverage is also excellent, the product is very pigmented so even if you have a lot of redness on your skin or dark circles the appropriate shade will cover them completely. The product dries down to a powdery finish so it doesn’t leave you with a tacky or sticky feeling.

For application you can use the sticks directly and blend with your fingers if you’re in a hurry or use a buffing brush. With color correcting products it’s best to use them before you apply your foundation so you don’t have to work so hard to cover the corrector shade. Plus it works better if you color correct and then go in with foundation because you will end up using less foundation since the color correcting will cover most of your concerns.

Swatches of the Marc Jacobs Cover(t) Stick Color Correctors L to R: 310 Bright Now, 300 Co(vert) Affairs, 320 Getting Warmer

As you can see by the swatches the shades are very pigmented, swatches were done with only one swipe. The good thing about the stick form is that if you have a larger area to color correct you can easily do it in one swipe since the stick is pretty wide but you can also use the corners to apply the product on smaller areas. It’s also nice that the Marc Jacobs Cover(t) Stick Color Correctors are in a cream form and super compact so they’re the perfect product to take when you travel.

If you’re looking for a good color correcting product that has good pigmentation these are great to try. Especially if you suffer from a lot of redness on your face and you haven’t found a product that covers it you will love the shade in Co(vert) Affairs.
