BEAUTY,

Giorgio Armani Maestro Glow Nourishing Fusion Makeup

When it comes to my base for spring and summer I prefer it to be lighter and more glowy than usual. There’s something about the warmer weather and the heat that makes me not want to wear medium to full coverage foundations and stick with something that feels light on the skin. When I think about it for every day use I actually prefer a lighter base and keep the full coverage bases for special occasions and going outs.

I’m a fan of Armani bases and love using the Luminous Silk Foundation for special occasions since it has great coverage but the finish is still beautiful and the foundation photographs amazing.

Giorgio Armani came out with a new foundation for summer, the Maestro Glow Nourishing Fusion Makeup. I saw the preview but I waited till there were some reviews to read before I take the plunge and buy a pricy foundation. What draw me to it is the light coverage and luminous finish plus the SPF 30 which makes it the perfect base for summer.

The Giorgio Armani Maestro Glow Nourishing Fusion Makeup is a foundation infused with oil and pure pigments and promises sheer to light coverage. The formula is described as weightless with bi-phase elixir that provides a lasting glow.

You can actually see the oils in the foundation since if it sits for awhile it separates in the bottle so you need to shake up the bottle before application.

The foundation is very runny so the easiest way is to apply some product on the back of your hand first and then go with your brush or sponge. I tried both applying it with a buffing brush and a sponge and you get almost the same results, the Beauty Blender gives the foundation a dewier look but also soaks up more product since the base is so thin.

The finish of the foundation is like no other I’ve tried, it has the most glowy skin like finish that I’ve ever seen in a foundation. Now if you have dry to normal skin you will love it but I don’t think this foundation will work for oily skin since it’s so hydrating and dewy.

With a couple of drops you can achieve sheer coverage that will give your skin a healthy and glowy look and you can also build it up to light coverage and it will look very natural and skin like. It is almost undetectable on the skin, that’s how natural it is. The foundation doesn’t settle in to fine lines or pores which makes it good for more mature skin too. I would say that if you like your light bases you will love this but don’t expect a lot of coverage if you need it, it just managed to even out my skin tone and cover any redness that I have on my face but you still have to conceal any blemishes that you have for it to look perfect.

Regarding the shades, they don’t seem to match the Luminous Silk Foundation since I wear a 6 and 6.5 when I’m tanner. In the Maestro Glow foundation I’m the shade 5.5 which is described as for medium skin with neutral undertone. I think since the foundation is light you can actually get away with a shade that doesn’t totally match you which is not the case with fuller coverage foundations.

Just for comparison the Luminous Silk Foundation has medium to full coverage with no SPF and a silky finish which in my opinion is more on the matte side and the Maestro Glow Nourishing Fusion Makeup has sheer to light coverage with a dewy finish and SPF 30. So if you’re looking for a foundation for special occasions I would go with the first option but if you’re looking for an every day lightweight foundation and you’re a fan of light coverage and dewy finish go with the second option.

I really like the Armani Maestro Glow Nourishing Fusion Makeup for every day use. I do have to set the foundation with powder since it’s very dewy but that makes the lasting power longer which I’m ok with. I like it because of the skin like finish and that you don’t feel it on your skin, it almost feels like applying a skincare product. I see myself wearing this during the warmer months a lot and even in winter when my skin is on the dryer side.
