Anastasia Beverly Hills Stick Foundation

Anastasia Beverly Hills recently launched a Stick Foundation with an impressive range of 28 different shades. The Stick Foundation is described as a highly pigmented buildable cream formula that leaves you with a natural matte finish.

The line has different shades that include shades for using as foundation but also shades to use as highlighters and contouring. The foundation is also buildable so you can use it sheered up as a tinted moisturizer but also achieve full coverage.

The ABH Stick Foundation comes in a beautifully designed black tube with rose gold details and the packaging feels very sturdy and very luxe looking. Since the foundation has a matte finish it is recommended for combination and oily skin.

I picked up two shades to test out, one as a foundation in the shade Natural which is recommended for medium skin with neutral undertones and the shade in Mink (toasted almond) which is meant for contouring.

On the ABH website they have photos of women for every shade so that made it pretty easy for me to find my perfect shade. I think after testing so many foundations it became easy for me to match myself online but if you’re new to foundations I recommend going to a store so you can match yourself or get help with it.

The formula of the foundation is creamy but not as creamy as the Hourglass stick foundation. I used a hydrating primer before application and it helped with the blending and slip of the foundation and gave me a very natural matte finish with a tiny bit of a glow. My skin is pretty normal at the moment but I do have some dry patches around my nose due to a recent cold so I noticed that the foundation clings a little bit to dry patches. So if you have them make sure to exfoliate and hydrate your skin before application.

For the coverage,I needed two swipes on each cheek and one on my chin and forehead to achieve medium coverage. I used the Hourglass Vanish Foundation Brush which is a buffing brush and it blended the foundation really well. The second time I tried it with a damp makeup sponge at it also worked really well, it just gave me a more natural sheered up finish.

The shade in Mink is a perfect cool toned shade for contouring. When swatched it might look dark but when blended on the skin it sheers up and gives a natural looking shadow on the skin. I used one corner swipe for each cheek and one for each side of the forehead, blended the contour shade with a dense contour brush and got a really nice natural looking contour.

The wear time is also excellent, it lasted me around 7 hours before I could see any fading and this is without using any setting powder.

All in all I really like the ABH Stick Foundation. I love it because the finish is very natural and it doesn’t feel heavy on the skin plus it doesn’t settle in to fine lines and pores. If you have oily and combo skin this will be a better option if you’re looking to try a stick foundation. It worked well with my normal skin but since it catches on dry patches people with dry skin would not like this.

The Anastasia Beverly Hills Stick Foundation is available at Sephora and anastasiabeverlyhills.com and it’s priced at $25.
