Five Hydrating Masks For Dry Skin

How can skin go from oily/combination to normal dry? Well you move from a humid climate to an extremely dry place like Colorado and your skin completely changes. Recently I’ve been dealing with dry patches and flaky skin which doesn’t look good especially when you’re wearing a foundation. So I’ve been trying a lot of hydrating skincare including masks.

GlamGlow Thirstymud Hydrating Treatment* – This mask smells so yummy! It reminds me of a tropical vacation and the smell of coconuts mixed with tropical fruits. The mask helps with moisture and also restores, calms and replenishes the skin.

-Dewdration™: A blend of actives containing hyaluronic acid and citric acid for deep hydration; boosts and locks in moisture for a dewy, youthful look.
-Hydrapack™: A blend of actives containing botanimoist, moisturizing sugars and acids from apples, oat bete glucan to soothe and calm the skin, and hydraclay to trap and retain moisture in the skin.
-GreenEnergy™: A blend of actives containing raw honey and ginger root for radiance and detoxifying; coconut provides immediate skin conditioning.
-Teaoxi Olive Leaf: Delivers naturally moisturizing linoleic acid.

How to use:

-Use two to three times per week or when needed.
-Apply an even layer to clean, dry skin.
-Can be used on the face, neck, and chest.
-Daytime use: leave on for 10 to 20 minutes, allowing product to absorb into the skin. Wipe off with tissue and massage remaining product into skin or rinse with water.
-Nighttime use: leave on to infuse the skin with moisture and wake up with extremely hydrated skin.
-In-flight use: apply at beginning of the flight and leave on for flight duration.

After using this mask for the first time, my husband asked me why is my face so glowy. I wasn’t wearing makeup so I looked in the mirror and noticed that all my dry patches were gone and I appeared a little oily, but in a good way. So if you struggle with extremely dry skin I highly recommend trying this mask.

Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask – This is an intense overnight mask but I also use it every time when I travel. Airplane air dries my skin so bad so I make sure I keep a travel size in my purse at all times.

The mask has apricot kernel oil, avocado and Japanese seaweed which helps repair the barrier of the skin to prevent future dehydration.

How to use:

-Twice a week or as desired, gently massage onto clean skin at bedtime.
-Tissue off excess.

If the Glamglow mask is not in your budget, the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask is a good substitute. Both smell amazing and work really well for dry skin.

REN Flash Hydro-Boost Instant Plumping Emulsion* – It’s a water-activated hyaluronic acid treatment that visibly plumps and smooths fine lines and wrinkles, while delivering essential moisture to the skin.

If you want anti-aging benefits but you’re also looking to add hydration to the skin, this mask is a great option. It’s formulated with hyaluronic acid and xylitol which optimize hydration levels while plumping the skin, germ peptide from carob seed enables the transport and circulation of water, while ceramides from safflower oil and phospholipids from soybean strengthen the skin’s barrier to prevent moisture loss.

How to use:

-Apply onto cleansed face and neck.
-Add water to the fingertips and massage into the skin until fully absorbed.
-Use daily before serum/moisturizer, as part of a usual routine.

Dr. Dennis Gross Hyaluronic Hydrating Modeling Mask* – A two-step face treatment that drives essential actives into the skin through a reviving oxygen exchange for an instantly dewy, healthy-looking complexion.

Same as the REN option, this mask delivers hydration while also plumps the skin. It improves the appearance of fine lines and pores, revives dull and dehydrated skin and smooths the appearance of uneven skin.

It’s formulated with Algin which delivers the highest concentration of guluronic acid through medical-grade marine algae and Sodium Hyaluronate which moisturizes skin through hyaluronic acid, a natural humectant, which holds 1000 times its weight in water.

How to use:

-Mix Hyaluronic Cushion Gel with Activating Powder in a bowl.
-Spread the formula in a thick, even layer on clean, dry skin using the supplied spatula.
-Starting from the jaw, quickly spread in upward strokes. (The thicker and more uniform the application, the easier it will be to remove in one piece.)
-Leave on for five to seven minutes, or up to 15 for maximum hydration.
-To remove the mask, lift off and wipe away any excess with a damp cotton ball.
-Do not rinse.
-Use once a week.

The Body Shop British Rose Fresh Plumping Mask* – It’s a gel based mask that helps nourish and hydrate the skin. It’s formulated with rose petals, rose hip oil and aloe vera which provides calming properties.

It’s a 100% Vegan mask that helps with hydration while plumping and soothing the skin.  The rose petals also provide gentle exfoliation revealing a glowy complexion.

How to use:

– After removing makeup and cleansing the skin, use the Facial Mask Brush to smooth an even layer of the British Rose Fresh Plumping Mask onto the face avoiding eye and lip area
– Apply to neck and décolletage if desired
– Leave for 5-10 minutes then rinse off with warm water and a muslin cloth in circular motions to gently exfoliate
– Use 2 to 3 times a week

In addition of using hydrating masks, I also exfoliate the skin and use a good hydrating moisturizer that also provides me with anti-aging benefits.
